This website contains draft and final Geographic Response Plans (GRP) developed to help protect sensitive coastal environments and resources along the Massachusetts coastline in the event of an oil spill into marine waters. GRPs for the state are being developed through a MassDEP Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup project that involves work team members from federal, state and local agencies and seeks community input through outreach meetings. To date, 29 GRPs have beendeveloped for sites in the Cape and Islands, 55 GRPs have been developed for sites inBuzzards Bay, 32 GRPs for the North Shore Region and 18 GRPs for Boston Harbor. As funding permits, additional GRP projects will be initiated in other coastal areas of Massachusetts.
In addition to the GRPs, meeting materials, process descriptions and other supporting documents are included in the website.
